The Forest Hill Condos,
built by Lash, are actually not quite in Forest Hill. They are at the
north west corner of Bathurst and St Clair Ave., across the street from the
Petro Canada Gas station. This is definitely a safe area, but some of the
shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity may not appeal to an
upscale market. It looks like the finish quality of this condo is
first rate, but we have some concerns. St Clair and Bathurst are busy
streets and, with the St Clair street car traveling next door, noise may be a
concern. If your worried about noise, have your lawyer insert a "maximum
in-suite noise level" in your sales contract. Toronto noise proofing code is
practically non existent (among weakest in North America) so the builder will
have to go way above code in order to minimise noise in this area. We have taken some
photos of the area and the construction site.
